On April 23, 2011, Grand Master Joo Won Kang was host to the 35th Can-Am Games. Held at the Investor's Group Athletic Centre at the University of Manitoba, athletes from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, North Dakota and Minnesota competed in both Poomsae (patterns) and Gyurookee (sparring) competition.
